Reflection Paper of “The Nerve” Movie

Nerve’ is the title of the fictional game in the movie wherein who wants to be part of it can choose whether to be a watcher or a player . A watcher starts with a certain amount of money whereas, the watcher can donate a money. The more money watcher donates, the harder challenge player can get. It tells about a teen girl who has a secret crush on a varsity player, where her friend insult her and made her realize or decide that she will play nerve game. Nerve is an application or online platform which you can get easy money doing challenges, more watcher more donations. The Nerve tells about victims of being ignorant to an app. or website that has anonymous creator or programmer, having unknown creator or developer is dangerous. You might get scam or steal your information . It also tells what will happen if the people will behave or act if the internet will be used evilly. It shows how we apply our learnings through Internet, and how can we used it to in our lifetime. Some said that the movie was bad, but in my own opinion the movie was good, the content or the context of the movie was plot twist. I wish there was a part two of it cause I feel like it was a bit hanging. The Nerve is a movie that tells us, how ignorant can be destructive to our lives or to our community especially social media. Whether we admit it or not, we are somehow controlled by social media or the internet. The movie made me realized that we should think before clicking something. We should know the hacks not in the bad way, but in a good way just like the programmer did in the last part. They program the system of the nerve, whereas they made a something like a platform just to show that all watcher are going to jail, but it’s fake just to scare them. Because the more watcher the more player can die. I like the part when the good programmer introduce programming to her mom. At first she feels confused about things. Overall I like the story of the movie especially the concept of the girl her close programmer friend. I totally like the “plot twist” if the movie.

Do Media Shape us or Do we Shape Media

According to David Buckingham media is defined as a channel. “Media do not offer a transparent window”. Media act as channel of information and knowledge through which citizens communicate. This means that we are developing our communication through the use of Media and . Media are essential facilitators of democratic processes and one if the guarantors of free and fair election. These are one of the functions of Media.

By determining and analyzing of its functions. Do Media Shape us or Do we shape Media. I think its both media shape us and we shape media and I think its safe to say that Media is to influence the development of being a citizen, student and as a literate person. For me, we shape media by using media as a source of information and facts, like doing or making research tittle. Media shaping us, by gaining experience and knowledge about a certain thing or phenomena. Example is ” 5 minute crafts on youtube. As we all know, we have 3 types of media; Print, New and Broadcast. To be an effective person, we must remember our own limit, Because we might criticize by others, we must be careful to our post on social media. Specially when there’s a problem between two person or celebrities. New Media is the most problematic media specifically Social Media like Facebook and Twitter, because anyone can post or make fake news. As a student or a literate person we must think before we click.

As I end my blog, I posted my opinions and ideas about Media shaping us and Us shaping media. I hope you learn something new and don’t forget to think before you click.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
